Cargo insurance covers cargo transported by all types of vehicles suitable for loading and transportation of cargo in the territory of the Republic of Lithuania and outside it.
BTA insures any type of cargo that is transported:
- by land;
- by the sea;
- by railway;
- by air;
- cargo transported to Lithuania, from Lithuania;
- transit cargo.
Cargo insurance compensates for losses caused by cargo due to the following risks:
- overturning of vehicles, collision with solid moving and stationary objects, derailment;
- fall of trees or aircraft and parts thereof;
- the collapse of bridges;
- natural disasters;
- fire, explosion;
- accident during loading, unloading, reloading, intermediate storage;
- damage to the ship by ice, running aground, sinking or capsizing;
- entry of sea, lake, river water into the hold of the ship, the vehicle transported by the ship, the container, into the loading room of the insured object;
- heating system water supply accidents;
- falling of cargo, washing it from the deck during a storm;
- falling of a load in an individual package during loading, reloading or unloading;
- forced discharge of cargo overboard while rescuing a ship or cargo;
- general accident losses.
Cargo insurance is valid during cargo transportation, loading, unloading, reloading and storage.
